A garden is a very slow moving visual and sensate symphony. The plants are the musicians, the seasons the movements. The gardener is the conductor. The role of the garden designer is to write the symphony in conjunction with the property owner in a manner that reflects his tastes and desires.”
The possibilities are endless. While the most common goal of a garden is a place of refuge and tranquility, I look for it to be a place of inspiration and a source of excitement, so I am inclined towards bold forms and lots of color. It should make us want to run outside every day and appreciate the succession of the year. My designs consider all of the seasons. The garden should connect us with the rest of the world and all that is in it. A step out of the back door can be a vacation to a far off land through the or a chance to admire and conserve precious native species.
